@tlfettled That's pretty much how all of society works, take it or leave it. You learn the social norms and you abide by them. You learn how the system works, because the system sustains civilized behavior. Take away the rules, and you have anarchy. Whether or not you're okay with that depends on your opinion of man in the state of nature.

Professionally-trained journalists surpass citizen journalists in accuracy. During the scene of a newsworthy event and armed with the newest gadgets, citizens are capable of getting the information out faster and this can be good. However, what if everyone just started published and reporting online? How would you know what information is credible? Mainstream news outlets will always be superior in their accuracy and size of readership. However, both can complement each other.

@HLSBabii Paying for an education doesn't mean you get one.
Whats the most important thing you learn from the system ae it is set up , You learn who has the cash makes the rules.
Then you learn their rules and the way they like their media served up, and if your a good boy or girl you will receive your pay check. Then you might wonder ,I spent all this time to find out free speech is determined by someone else's rules, that is if you like getting paid every week.

Citizen journalism is mostly comment and opinion.

Old Media is slowly(but surely) embracing CJ, and I predict we will soon see large mainstream networks and outlets that only serve up citizen journalism.
That is my dream and I know I will see it.

CJ gives the common people POWER,
and access to the TRUTH.
Do you think that the Big Media
feeds us the real thing? LOL
So, you probably know what the Bilderberg Group is right? And how many of your "recognized journalistic bodies" reported on their annual meeting on June 5-8th, 2008, right here in Virginia?
No, I think I will stick with my "dubious" sources thank you. When I want someone to feed me BS, I can always watch TV.
