I'm getting this done tomorrow. I've never had a piercing before, other than my ears, but I got that done when I was like 8 and i know it's way different when it comes to your septum. So yeah, I'm really nervous. I typically handle pain pretty well but when it comes to actually piercing all the way through my septum, i have no idea how i will react. I just don't wanna pass out. You know of any way I can gauge my pain tolerance for piercings? that might be a stupid question haha. Im just nervous.

@chemaeraa I know this reply is pretty late, but there really is no way to know how much it's going to hurt until you just dive in and do it.

thanks. this was alot of help. im gonna do my own septum this weekend. im pretty nervous. but ive done my own noserings before. so hopefully i can take it.

My freind got her septum peirced and she said it hurt not alot but for an instant.

Exactly! Whenever I tell people I want a septum piercing they get grossed out and say, "You'll look like a bull!!" but I don't understand it. I really love the way they look and I think it looks great on you :) I'm probably getting one soon for my birthday ^^

I got my septum done a week ago, I love it, and the best thing about it that its ALREADY healed :)) Ive already been called a bull or whatever but i dont really care because as you said, whats ugly to one person is pretty to another :3 xx

I just got mine done a little bit ago. I got it because I wanted a nose piercing really badly I was planning on wearing a ring (studs are a little to sorority girl trendy for me these days) but my new job didn't want facial piercings. I figured a septum would be perfect for that and look a little more dramatic. I'm having a hard time flipping it up to hide it though, and I just hate the look of retainers. It's only a sixteen, so do you think that just changing the balls on the end would help?

And ppl said it hurts really bad and even though piercings don't hurt me I was afraid maybe this one would be different. I may comment back and tell u if it hurt if I remember ;)
