This is the Fairbairn and Sykes method of point shooting called "half hip." It is the fastest way that I have ever seen to get hits onto to threat. This is often called "elbow up/elbow down" as a description of the drawstroke. This one is about pure speed and is good to go out to five yards
I prefer shooting immediately above the holster. For some reason when taught to point shoot I was never taught to stick out the gun halfway. just draw turn the gun towards the threat and fire all in one smoothe sequence.
