Bowers CAC-45 silencer on a Desert Eagle .44 shooting supersonic ammunition. There was a lot of gas blowback making the shooter's eyes water. The gun can run on much lighter ammo with the added back pressure from the silencer.

This was filmed at a public range. I was wearing ear muffs because of all the other people shooting unsuppressed guns.

I've gotten a lot of comments on the EoTech sight. I started with a 10" barrel, and had it cut to around 7.5" and threaded. As part of that process, the front sight went away, so I needed to mount some other sighting system. I robbed the EoTech off of a rifle, because that's what I had on hand. I've since gone to a smaller Bushnell Holosight. I tried a traditional pistol scope, but for shooting bowling pin competitions, it was too slow on the transitions. Some type of red-dot sight works better.

  • Probably wanted that EOTEC because he couldnt use the iron sights... Blocked by the suppressor i bet.

I can't use the iron sights because there is no front sight.

  • @jakk1045 Why?

Front sight went away when the barrel was chopped & threaded. You would get into the gas system if you tried to thread a 6" barrel. I started with a 10" barrel and had it cut back.

  • i dont know if there has ever been a more pointless gun ever made.

  • what the fuck do you want with such a killer toy on a sport shooting range? are you're an member of the american cosa nostra or what?

  • It's not a suppressor, it's a "shot sound normalizer" or similar...

  • Im guessing thats one way to reduce the muzzle flip, with a big ass surpresser

  • @jaden627 It's not supposed to. Suppressors are designed to disguise the shot, not make it silent.

  • @Snakstaz Probably not with that one... but suppressing a smaller caliber and using subsonic ammo on the other hand...

  • @Scoggs117 Yup it's definitely quieter! But it's never going to suppress a gun like the movies, whisper quiet, and when you shoot the guy downstairs the guy up doesn't even hear it.

  • HAXXXX

  • @KickenItOldSchool The Suppressor reduced the sound a lot. Also he was using supersonic ammo which would be loud regardless. Also suppressing muzzle flash is something entirely different. If he just wanted to reduce muzzle flash he would get a flash suppressor which would not suppress sound.
