Baby rats chase mom for milk

I put Little Mama in the playpen with all the 2.5 week old babies, and they chased her to get a chance to nurse. These are my foster rats.

how many were there?? i had an oops litter with 21 babies once! 1 died, and one got het tail and foot accedentally bitten off by her mom.

@iWannaBeAdopted1, there were 14 babies. The mom was just 3-3.5 months old when she had them. She was just a baby herself. It was from a hoarder case that my rescue took all the rats from. In total, with the 9 pregnant females, we ended up having over 100 rats from this one case. :(

@bungo96 - check your local shelter to see if they have rats. If not, they may know of another shelter in your area that does. Adoption is the way to go! :) (All 15 of the rats in the video were rescue rats and all adopted out.)

they're all white!! my white rat had 4 black hoodeds aka Long-Evans rats,1 hooded rex rat (curly haired), 1 berkshire rex rat (curly haired),1 silver hooded, 2 white aka albino aka Sprague Dawley rats. She's on her second litter now I wonder what they're gonna be. The dads a black hooded. You got 14 babies that's mad, they must have had to share compartments.

I didn't breed her. She was a rat the rescue took in, and I raised her litter. You should consider getting your male neutered so you don't have tons of unwanted babies!
