I am just a beginner, so please don't judge the drumming. This is a demonstration of using the ION Drum Rocker with GarageBand via the Alesis DM6 drum module. The DM6 has USB, which allows you to use the drumset in GarageBand. I alternate between several GarageBand drumsets throughout the recording.

  • Great sounding kit! Quick question..Do I need to buy a special pedal for the electric kit or can I use my current pedal? Im in love with my pedal and really hope I dont have to switch! Thanks!

  • @13IamCanadian After I got this kit and made the video, I bought an Alesis RealPad kick pad and can now use it with any pedal, since the DM6 kick cable is plugged into the kick pad instead of once of those ION Drum rocker electronic kick pedals I have. Works great and now I can get a more accurate kick feel and sound.

  • I've been wondering, can you multitrack record these drums. Audio, not MIDI. Thanks

  • @teragreg Not built in or anything, but no reason why I can't route the line out to a line in to the computer and record as audio tracks.

  • Hey, I want to get the Alesis DM6, and I was wondering the it had a MIDI output, so I could use it with Rockband/Guitar Hero. Please respond, thank you.

  • @Deedeedee12321 Sorry no MIDI ports. But the ION Drum Rocker module (which I have since I purchased the ION Drum Rocker set and just added the DM6 to it) allows this set to work with Rock Band. One option is the DM5, which has MIDI ports.

  • can you tell me what are the default midi note of all pads ? Thanks

  • @njdkidd1231 I can help answer that. You can simply just buy the module, and you will be good to go. The module will come with the cables needed to hook up to your pads and cymbals. I sell the DM6 module, and I have them in stock. Send me a message on here, and I will make you a deal :)

  • please give me the notes of the first rithm

  • ive got a pretty important question about the module that needs answering lol. so my friend just brought his electric set from home and gave it to me at college but he sold the module years ago. will i just need to purchase a module and all the chords from each pad will connect to that? and then will the module connect directly to an amp if i have a normal guitar chord? and is there anything else important that im missing or any other parts i need to buy?

  • how did u set it up with garage band?

  • dude, is that the Dm5 Kit though?

  • is alesis dm6 a gud kit??? or does it hv many problems

  • how do you record everything and how do you get more sounds on the kit??

  • @apaje Actually, i just picked up a DM7 a few weeks ago, im loving it. I use EZDrummer sometimes, works just like a miced up kit with a mixer
