Saturday 13th June saw the return of the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway's pioneer steam loco No. 1 Green Goddess. The 1925 15 inch gauge pacific was making it's first passenger carrying runs since overhaul. The Apple Green loco has been out of service since early 2005, and would've been back in traffic sooner has the funds been available. This video features No. 1 Green Goddess as well as No. 3 Southern Maid, No. 5 Hercues, No. 6 Samson, No. 7 Typhoon and No. 8 Hurricane, all at work on the 13 mile mainline in miniature.

Enjoy!

  • Yes I totally agree. See my video response

  • The RH&DR really is something unique. You will not see anything like this anywhere else. Indeed, it feels full size but it isn't, probably because (most) the locos are third scale versions of the original LNER A1 class and they travel at scale speeds of up to 75MPH (and it really feels like it too!), which is actually 25MPH. If you ever visit the UK, I would recommend visiting the RH&DR, you won't be dissapointed!

  • Cheers.

  • Thanks.

  • Welcome back Green Goddess we missed you.
