This is how cycling works in the Slovenian capital. notice how not one pedestrian flinches, or appears to notice the cyclists weaving abound them. no conflict, no aggresion, and in common with almost all real cyclists around the world, NO HELMETS!
Pt2 continues as the lights change, to Preseren Square, and up a main shopping street. This is where the shared-use REALLY gets serious! Again, nobody seems bothered.

  • It's certainly a cycle/cyclist friendly place by the look of it but I must say the cyclists in the video aren't riding on the pavement - which is the main bug bear in the UK - in the video, it's more that the people are walking on the road, albeit a pedestrianised road.

Also, helmets aren't compulsory, certainly not in the UK anyway and they have been shown to reduce head injury in an accident. It's the rider's choice if they want to wear one or not.

  • Nice video!
