I feel really sorry for all the bigots that despise us transsexual woman and men! @ 9:15 HE makes a good point! You dont need to understand it, but you should respect it. I cant help who I am, anymore than you can help being a racist pig. I am proud to be a girl! I was so unhappy for a long time, but for once in my life I am happy =)

I may not agree with people's sexual choices but I absolutely agree they need to be respected beyond a shadow of a doubt in order for real communication to take place

This video is pretty interesting, but maybe I'm too cynical to believe it would have to much impact on the general bigoted views of cops who's job is more or less to intimidate people and find out if they are doing anything they can nail them for.

@groovinupslowly yes! i found that whole section super questionable. "If you have to search a transsexual, ask if they are pre-op or post-op." If a cop asked me that question I don't know what i would do, do i say "none of your bizness" or just let them invade my privacy as much as they can. As for the women officers can't see penises and men can't see vaginas is such a hetero-normative standard. I want the Trans officers to pat me down... or just to be let go with impunity. :)

i was a bit thrown off when the officer at 6:19 said "if they have male genitalia, they are considered men" but after he went on a little more i understood. personally i was being seen as transgender and not male, i would feel a little uncomfortable being felt around by a man. seeing as he knows what is and isn't there i might feel taken advantage of so i completely agree and it should not be taken as something as ignorance.

It is a good thing to help people be better people. However, I am very upset that Ofc. J. Wombles said twice in his interview, "personal choices." That is absolute bullshit! Better than anyone else he should know that who we are sexually attracted to is not, ever been, nor will it ever be a choice! I knew since I knew boy from girl. Don't ever belive for a second that anyone can chose how they are going to be born. I hope you all have a happy and blessed life.

It's not a perfect video in many respects, but I really like that the police are making an effort to respect diversity. I especially like the part about using the proper pronouns.
