Jimmy Webb has many stories to tell. In this one, told during a benefit for the Blue Door venue in Oklahoma City, he recalls traveling the Irish countryside with actor and singer Richard Harris. It served as an introduction to the song "No Signs of Age" from Jimmy's "Twilight of the Renegades" album. The song is not included, just the fond remembrance of Richard Harris and days gone by.

  • Jimmy Webb was one of the most gifted writers ever to be born. You really have to look ALL of the songs that wrote to appreciate just how great he was.

  • That's true. Even the songs that may not have been the 'big hits' are well-crafted songs.

  • I see that I'm not the only one with old LP's. I have Rewind & Realization, which was a big change for Rivers. Lou Adler took Johnny's career, in that one album, & changed his life forever.

  • I've seen Jimmy in concert several times. He often signs items after his shows. Some of the things many people bring for him to sign are the old LPs. Words and Music, for instance, or a rare 45 or rare sheet music. And his Rhino limited edition boxed set The Moon's a Harsh Mistress sold out. Quickly. Mine is autographed!

  • I'm only 24 years old and think Richard Harris was one of the best actors--and men--of his time. I wish I had known Richard Harris personally the way that Jimmy Webb describes here.

  • haha that sounds hilarious, i wish i could have known Richard Harris... you just dont get people like Richard Harris in the world anymore, he had that tough attitude and i liked that about him, although im not full Irish im glad to say i have some Irish in me and Richard Harris makes me proud to say that, he came from Ireland, Limerick and i wish to visit their someday, he really was a legend and i just really wish i could have met him, im such a big fan of his.

  • viejojimo01. At last a joke on Youtube I find funny. Thank you. I am Irish and love both Jim Webb and Richard Harris. Harris should have got an Oscar for "The Field". His performance was worthy of King Lear. His grasp of the greed, lust, atavistic hunger for land in the Irish psyche (A Post-Colonial inheritance) was genius. Webb is an outstanding American artist, the best.: "Wichita Lineman", "Galveston" "By the Time I Get To Phoenix" My God. What talent

  • I was told this story by someone who alledgedly was in the car with him.. after a bit of alcohol.. while after traveling in a car.. they stopped behind a car at a redlight.. the light changed green,, the again red.. green again and red again.. obviously this driver was drinking a bit also.. and Richard Harris growing impatient walked to the driver and said .. "Is there any particular shade of green that ye are waiting for.? "

  • he was from limerick and we all miss him...

  • he still is.
