nice job, shame about the weight, check out the turnigy packs if you are thinking of upgrading the power pack. i have one of these in the workshop waiting to be done and its interesting to see that you used a 2 step sprocket assembly, why was that?

put a altinatore on it

I love my gas burners a lot, but props to you guys for coming up with something really cool! I hope I can come up with something as cool for my final design project. Would it be that hard to get a two speed transmission on it to get 60 mph? It does seem like it'd be more elegant to just make the generator spin faster though through more voltage. Why clutter up a clean compact electric system with an oily, complicated gearbox - the internal combustion engine's big crutch.

Very cool! I love my gas burners, but I gotta give you guys props for doing something this cool. And I got a lot of love for the 92-97 CR125's too, great bikes. I hope I can come up with something this cool when I do my final design project...

Good Job! The riding place strangely looks like Metcalf! ;)

what a freakin waste of a good bike! but i like the E-SWIFT hahaa
That is rad! Very impressive. These guys must be from that Penguins Motorcycle Club in San Luis Obispo...

Two of the team members are former Penguins, Ryan Hollowell and Jeff Steiner. Jeff Steiner rode the bike last summer at the REFUEL competition (at Laguna Seca) and placed second in a road race against other electric street bikes. Pretty amazing for an electric dirt bike.

Very nice! Its so quiet its almost spooky. Just wondering what the run time is and what is its comparable power in displacement, like is it comparable to a 125cc or an 80cc? Just wondering and again GREAT JOB!!!

The run time is low at the moment (10 minutes) and we're working to track down the source of inefficiencies that are causing this. We think the duration should be twice what it is now. The power is hard to describe, the initial hit is strong like a big bike (250 2-stroke) but the "pull" rolls off too soon (30 mph) because of the battery pack's low voltage. A better design would use a higher voltage power system and we'd like to build a bike like that next.
