It's almost 2010. This is the FIFTEENTH UN Conference on Climate Change. Isn't it time we stopped talking and took significant actions? Every person has a stake in our planet and collectively we hold our governments accountable. We need our political leaders to know that we understand the gravity of this problem and that we want them to FINALLY truly address the issue. I'm a citizen of a country with the highest CO2 emissions per capita (USA), I live in the world's largest CO2 emitter (China), and my family is from a developing country that studies show will suffer disproportionately due to climate change (Ethiopia). I see more and more how this issue affects us all, and how each of us --individuals and governments--has an important role to play. I recently graduated from Yale with a degree in Environmental Studies. My concentration in food and agriculture drives my desire for a coordinated global response to climate change. This movement cannot reach its full potential without bringing everyone into the fold. As ambassador to Hopenhagen, I'll work to ensure we are heard and encourage new voices to join us. *Unrelated note: to my Chinese professors past and present, I know my tones are off! 对不起!不好意思但是我感冒了。*
