Me playing "This Lying World" (Unearth Cover)

My first attempt with 7 strings. The breakdown sounds different cause it was recorded a month later, impossible to match mic distance and amp settings and all that, you know....

I recorded this cover a long time ago and decided to make a video of me "playing" it so that i could upload it to youtube. It has many layers of harmonized guitars but on the video im just playing the guitar on the left side (Buz's guitar? IDK) which is slightly lower in the mix than the right side, dammit.

Simple gear I used:
Presonus Firepod interface
SM57 mic
Schecter Damien 7
Peavey 6505 amp
EZDrummer

Yeah, for the price i recommend it to anybody who wants to start/try playing 7's, it would be a great investment ha, i love it. It is kinda heavy and thick but THATS WHAT YOU GET! A little skinnier than a bass i would say, but its doable.

if i were to try this song on 6 strings, what tuning would i use?

If you have pretty thick strings, you can tune it the same way just sacrificing it the high e string, so it'd be BEADGB.

But that low B is often too low for standard set ups, its going to be wayyy too loose.

Before i bought the 7 strings i would use Guitar Pro (i recommend it) and transpose all instruments to standard tuning and play against that as the backing track.

Idk if that helps much but yeah. Good luck bro.
