I was trying to keep the focus on the Pearlscale for this video, but the Ryukin kept popping his nose in.
As of now, the Pearlscale is approximately 1" inch long, not including fins. He's probably about that wide, as well. He's a charming little guy with a lot of personality and he's very fun to watch. He's also easy to catch on camera since he doesn't go anywhere very quickly and he prefers to browse around the bottom of the tank in the hunt for food.
(CD playing in the background - Who Killed Amanda Palmer, song Guitar Hero, by Amanda Palmer. I hope it's not a problem, I didn't think to turn it off before recording.)
Mine's just a little guy from a local pet store so I've no idea how well he'll stick to standard as he grows, but he's still quite the golf ball.
I imagine that those kinds of changes away from the "breed standard" probably make them a lot hardier and faster, though.

My pearlscales are not as close to 'breed standard' as this^^
They have longer fins and are more agile, but I kinda like that about them.
