He made a good proposal to the feds that said part of the money could be better applied to upgrades for the EXISTING line between Milwaukee and Chicago. The Obama administration rejected it because they are generally poor decision makers.
900 million for 100 jobs? I’m sorry, but I don’t think a guy checking tickets should cost taxpayers 9 million. Your post shows that you fail to understand that a taxpayer funded job is not the same as a private-self supporting job. The former is almost always a net negative and the latter a net positive. Why are you advocating a net negative effect on the economy?
I actually think the state should work to gradually acquire a right away strip for a train line. It could be leased for power lines and or Telecom type cables in the 50 to 100 years between now and when it becomes plausible that a train is a good idea between Milwaukee and Madison.
In that time the train technology might improve from your “high speed” of 80 MPH to “real” high speed like 300+ MPH.
The Train! Your right, the train is a panacea, fixing all economic problems. It isn’t 1) the tax climate, 2) the regulatory climate (bureaucratic/judicial), or 3) The business climate/culture (entrepreneurship/outside perception). It’s the train!
@hawkishOwl2020 all the money went to California, Florida and several other states for them to implement a high speed rail system bringing hundreds of jobs those states. Although Walker claims he canned the high speed rail because he was afraid of the operating cost and tax, the federal government would have subsidized over 90% (just like amtrak). Get your self educated before you vote in 2012 and maybe pick up your college degree while your at it, maybe you can share it with Scott Walker.
@gonegolfn07 How do I feel about what? My post? It is still really apt at pointing out how bankrupt this ad is. Walker and repairing the budget? I’m very happy to see the state moving in the right direction. Wisconsin is (finally) open for business.
Scott Walker supports rape? Is it really possible to put that ad together and sleep at night? Maybe you should mention how many cases your talking about. Maybe you should be clear that mentally disabled people committed a crime.
Tom Barrett oversees the city with the most crime in the state. The people he appointed oversee that crime. Call to stop Tom Barrett from causing crime.
As for Walker:
He made a good proposal to the feds that said part of the money could be better applied to upgrades for the EXISTING line between Milwaukee and Chicago. The Obama administration rejected it because they are generally poor decision makers.

It's pretty well known that what you put into life both good or bad will eventually come back on you.
I would not want to be Walker when judgement day falls on him.
