@Big Dan
beautiful!! suay muk!

The unique thing is the only thing that changed was the name of the region but not the culture. But we are not saying that Northeastern Thai "isaan" are Lao.
-
@dapitbull79 Reading your "debate" with the other Lao person it seems you are self righteous. You need to understand the difference between nationality, culture, descendant, and heritage.Northeastern Thais inherited and practice Lao culture because they were descendant of Lao ppl who created a culture of their own after they left China.Just like when you Thais broke away from us and changed up the Lao language to your own accent.
-
@dapitbull79 All "Tai" ppl came from China and are Chinese descent.Tai and Thai are not the same thing by the way.But as far as culture Lao culture is no longer the same as Chinese, same as Thai, or Burmese.I don't think of Isaan ppl as Lao I just know they speak my language nor do I think of Thais as my relatives because none of you Thais mean anything to me.So don't sit there and try to argue about something silly when I'm just giving you the facts.
-
@dapitbull79 Do you know what heritage means?Right now in northeastern Thailand those Thai ppl speak Lao and eat Lao food because they have Lao heritage.I'm not saying they are Lao as I know it offends many Thai ppl because you think you are better and look down on Lao (if you are Thai). When we all broke away from China we developed our own culture be it Lao, Thai, Pahma. The northeastern Thais in "Isaan" still practice Lao culture. And Khmer did not come from China, shows how much you know.
-
@beshnola well if you wanna talk heritage we could say that there are no thai/lao/burmanese or khmer coz all of our ancestors came from China
-
oh yeah many Thais would rather favor being mixed Chinese than Lao.
-
@dapitbull79 Yes Isaan ppl are from Thailand but you cannot deny they are of Lao heritage, even the Bangcock ppl have Lao heritage, many even have Khmer in them that's why I think there are many Thai that have darker skin cuz Khmer have darker skin.
-
Yes Isaan ppl are Thai now even though they are of Lao descent.
-
But many ppl of Lao descent in northeastern Thailand are now mixed with Khmer hence the darker skin for many of them.
What a perfect duet! Their voices complement each other so much...Thank you, Kristy & Jonas for your wonderful contribution to the Thai culture...I'm so proud to be Thai! Khop Khun Maak Maak! Sawatdi Khrap!!
