Being I wasn't born as yet, and loving the oldies as I do, The Platters are one of my all tiem fav groups, top 5 in fact....and this song especially, I just love and always listened to it on WCBS 101.1 back home in NY.....awesome!

so glad to find this original version - I was in high school when it came out, and I had just heard my boyfriend was going to take my best friend to the prom, and this was playing on noon-hour music as I cried in the bathroom... 50 years ago now, and just as touching, thanks for downloading this!

However, The Platters' version is still being played and enjoyed more than 50 years after it was recorded. This is the classic version of the song, and it has no equal.

haunting... i remember a halloween special in a local TV channel feature this song in one of their segments... but i love this song though.
