I can't even believe that some of the people below actually say that Jones is an awful bass player or all around musician! You obviously are not musicians yourself. This guy is so tight. What a monster bass player. He always was. And could also play keyboards and mandolin dynamite. Hes a real studio cat. Just saying he sucks tells me you know nothing of music. You probably listen to "my chemical romance".
and as for the climate change i mentioned its your greedy american fuckers who are doing the most damage per individual..stop killing the planet and enjoy the last moments of the 20th century when life was good...
be grateful that in an uncertain world of turmoil there is still some light out there..we have so little left to hold onto...led zep is one of the few moments in history that we can experience in a contemporary way..the world is falling apart..the songs remain the same..if we are still around in 50 years (unlikely given the climate change) then these songs will live on...
That said, I AM grateful, because they've given me a FUCKTON to be grateful for. You have, I hope, heard 9/4/70 and 1/9/70 and 9/23/71 and the recently-surfaced 10/10/69 and a hundred others of the sort? THOSE are truly good. Praising this reunion show does a disservice to the greatness they once had.
Oh, my bad, I didn't realize skill on the bass was measured by the ability to drop it like a fucking hotbake for a mandolin or an organ every other song. Jones was a mediocre bassist, and he didn't belong with the other three greats in Zeppelin.
And no, I will not give Plant a break for a lifetime of putting strain on his voice. I, as I assume most people do, listen to music I find enjoyable. His voice is no longer enjoyable to listen to.
Plant did F****** great! I was there...only 1 person between me and the stage.....Yes his voice may have changed from the time he was 20..but he sounded great at this CHARITY function! I guess as you get older the mind goes too...hence these comments below. (and the Jones comment is absurd!)
but if you ask me...YES has never stoped touring..and sound great...and dont get back together every 10 or 20 years later..and charge 100 to 500 a ticket...like the eagles ect................
