@dillonmoss you know? i think the recording of this is kind of bad, I agree I don't like how the beginning sounds ,it sounds too harsh, but I just saw him in concert a couple of months and it was absolutely gorgeous, delicate, and sensitive :)

oh and do u guys kno that his hands are soooo small that he can only reach an octave? :D (my hands aren't big either T.T i can only reach 9th)

holy crap i listened to this song when i actually played the piece, which was like a year ago...NOW I JUST RETURNED FROM CAMP AND I REALIZED I JUST HAD MASTERCLASS WITH HIM!!!! 8DDD

Phew! haha there had to be some explanation to that... I recently just posted my performance of this and saw 14 yr old van cliburn winner and it kinda scared me... I thought maybe they lowered the age requirement.
He's obviously a really talented pianist but to be honest, I really didn't like the way he interpreted the song, esp. the beginning... but he has incredible technique! holy cow... and are you sure he's 14? you have to be 18 to enter the van cliburn...

haha he's amazing! but no, he's not 14. i'm actually not sure how old he is (i think around 40) but i think someone got confused and thought it was me... which he definitely is not. :)
