hi i have a question. i have the same tower i orderd new parts for it. but as i just seen you had to make modifications to the power button cable. i have so cd audio cables but dont really know how to do it

@6guitarist There are small tabs on the side of the plug housing that you can carefully pry up just a hair, and it will allow the pins to slide out. Take note which side of the pins face the tab. If you can find some CD audio cables with the black housing, the pins should fit right in. Just remove the old pins, trim the housing down to 2 pins, and put the pins for the LED in the new housing. Do this for all 3 things (hard drive led, power led, and power switch). White wires are negative.

hey i just got a Compaq Presario cq5000/cq5814 and i wanna if i can replace my cpu and graphics card or do i have to buy a hole new motherboard just to do that
DARKZERO216psn 5 months ago
@DARKZERO216psn According to what I read, the CPU is permanently attached to the motherboard, and it can only support PCI-E x4 video cards. You might be able to replace the board, cpu and RAM, and use the existing case, but I can't tell for sure without seeing it.
