Yep, that's right. You don't need a Nintendo Wii to motion-control stuff, just use your webcam!
This program i made runs on a super-fast, super-simple algorithm (O(n), about 2 additions and half a subtraction on average per pixel). I intended it for my mobile phones; to turn any camera-phone into a motion-sensing machine!
(edit: I guess nowadays it's more useful for PC's again)
It is robust enough to ignore moving stuff in the scene, and works under any lighting.
As long as the cam sees something, and more than half of it is static, it will work ;)
Check out the Webcam Airmouse-gaming video too, and my other projects!

looks very responsive lievenvv .Is your software available for download ,so that i can
test it . ?
you mentioned open cv or camspace .both of those are heavy bits of software though
and are prossesor hogs . please give url for your software routine .THNX

@Plutonion2 Hey man, you're right about Camspace, etc. being heavier than my little routine. They are also probably more robust, though. My software is indeed quite responsive and works relatively well, but some improvements could still be made.
Anyway, it is currently not available for download, but I will look into it!!
