Wow. at 1:27 the guitarist has that "psycho" look . Like he is going to kill someone with an axe or something.

@lt1bird348 The Blues Magoos were a great band. I like The Blues Magoos. I have their first two albums and I like both of them. But they were not a groundbreaking band in any way. When people think of late '60s rock, The Blues Magoos are not one of the first bands they think of. Moby Grape was by far a more incredible band than The Blues Magoos ever were and you barely hear anything about them! The Blues Magoos were fine, but not enough to deserve a place in the RnRHOF.

@littlemikey1954 I agree with your last sentence. But, Rock and Roll was rebellion. Not necessarily "fun". That was left for groups like the Beach Boys. The world was in turmoil and we could no longer trust anyone over 30.
Bubble Gum was put out by the record companies to formulate and control the industry.

@MattHatter That my friend is what Rock and Roll was about. Not the over-produced ,mediocre crap that came after it.
-
@MattHatter Rock and Roll was not about commercialism. The Blues Magoos had many hit songs. But, only one was commercially successful. Pipe Dream and its flip side were examples..

@rozoffaolcom Abba gets nominated but the Blues Magoos are ignored proving that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a joke! Music was turning to crap in 1968 when everybody decided that music needed to carry a message of love. "Bubblegum" for better or worse, was nonsense and fun, like music is meant to be. For those who thought Bubblegum was crap, the worse was yet to come.

@dullsvillain I remember watching the Smothers brothers and listening to my uncles talk about how the studio heads seemed to like harrassing the guys about the subject matter of their skits.
It's too bad that I didn't get the punch lines then. LOL

@rozoffaolcom I agree. I was growing up during this era. I think that Abba was bubble gum in the worst way. I listened to them when I was stationed in East Anglia but would rather have had something like this instead.

@metalheadedtothemax ... of NO homo?

These guys came out just when music was turning to crap. When they were forcing bubble gum music down our throats.
Sad that Abba gets into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and these guys never will. God bless the Blues Magoos!!!
