  • I have heard active duty Marines talk smack about their Marine Corps Reservist brothers and it grates on me like fingernails across a black board. Lima Co, Marine Corps Reserve out of Ohio has to this date the unenviable honor of having suffered the most casualties of any Marine Corps unit deployed to Iraq. And while that singular distinction is not one I would wish on any other Marine Corps unit, I defy any active Marine to confirm that a terrorist's weapon knows the difference between you.

  • Wow! Pretty powerful stuff you say there. Thanks for the response. I hope more people read it.

  • Thank you, SeanFlaharty. I saw on a cable channel a year or two ago a documentary special on Lima Co. The producers/journalists interviewed the Marine survivors of that deployment and the entire story was reconstructed for we viewers. I was so moved by the stories of these brave young heroes, that I have never gotten them out of my mind or off my heart. Therefore, as we say "down South", I get my dander up when Reservist are trash talked. Active or Reserve deserve respect.

  • I know of the documentary very well. It's called Combat Diaries: The Marines of Lima Company. You can purchase it on the A&E website. There is a new version available now with some great bonus features.

I can't help but shed a few tears every time I watch it.

  • R.I.P. Aaron Reed....miss you bro

  • While I never got the chance to meet or know Aaron Reed, I know he was a cool guy just from talking to a few of his friends and parents. I proudly wear my Aaron Reed Memorial shirt whenever I get the chance.

  • RIP Marines. you will never be forgotten.

  • For those of you that live in the Columbus viewing area, WBNS 10TV will be showing a story on the Lima Company Memorial on the 5:30PM news on May 7th (today). Channel 10 has been working on this story for over a year now. It should be something special. I will hopefully have the story up for those that want to view it sometime soon.
