awesome video, grace hopper is awesome! one question: by my understanding 1/1000th of a billionth of a second is a trillionth of a second. am i mistaken or did she misspeak when she said (8:04) quadrillionth of a second?

It's a shame that this TV appearance has the effect of "dumbing down" this brilliant woman. I wish that she had been given more leeway to discuss what it is she did and had done, as that is completely fascinating. Not only that, but she was a terrific public speaker and you get almost none of that from this TV interview. Nonetheless, it's still good to see her.

I remember seeing a lecture she gave that was recorded and replayed pretty regularly on the 'Open University Channel' up here in the 80's

She handed out those 'nanoseconds' to the audience, but told them she only had one 'microsecond' - and then she pulled out a coil of ONE THOUSAND FEET of wire - the distance electricity can travel in 1µs.
"Every computer programmer should have one of these hanging over their desk to remind them what they're wasting." ^_^
