  • I could not agree with you more. We all love the G8, but on ever posting there are Aussies that must rambling: "The G8 is really a Holden from Australia"...Okay, we are aware of that fact, can we please move on!!!!

  • The story of GM: "Hey, we just built the perfect car! Let's destroy its brand altogether.

  • @courtstone as soon as you American's stop calling it your own, then we'll shut up...until then we'll keep reminding you how shit American made cars are...apart from the corvette, how would you yanks like us calling a corvette Australian just because its sold here... understand now?? probably not.

  • @DynastyQg9 Yep GM does own Holden...I just think they should bring the holden's over here as holdens....whats so wrong with that?

  • @courtstone Doesn't gm own holden i believe...

  • @seymorass93 I was aware of the Lumina name in the US before I saw Commodores wearing it. Occasionally Holden will release a "Limited Edition Commodore Lumina;" one of those production specials where they add a couple of extra grand's worth of equipment and still charge the saem a s a base model. I knew of the Lumina name because of "Days of Thunder."

  • @Mechknight73 And don't be surprised if they don't, since the Lumina name in the U.S. has as much equity in it's name as the Cobalt.

  • @JamesOnscotch America still seems to think the ute (aka pickup in America) was an American invention too. Really it was born of a suggestion from An Australian farmer, and a design by a brilliant Ford Australia designer named Lewis Brandt. It was Henry Ford's idea to bring it to America, but only after Ford Australia had already put them into production in Australia

  • @seymorass93 Don't be surprised if they call it the Lumina, because this is the badge it wears in the Middle East. You can already buy Bowtie badges and grilles in Australia for the VE, because Holden build them that way and export them ready done.

  • @Max8Jizzy Too busy with that thing that resembles a crossbreed of the F150 and the Crown Vic, the Interceptor. So they tell me, it was a concept car that is meant to replace the Crown Vic, but aby other stats I don't know. Although if Ford USA actually did do what GM did and let Ford Australia design their world rear drive platform, that would be more likely. Main reason why they don't is the alleged tooling costs for LHD versions. The VE was tooled that way from day 1.

  • @pinocolado

i really hope that is a joke
