ESQUIMALT -- Carrying on a Christmas tradition that began with the HMCS PROVIDER in 1986, the ship's company of HMCS PROTECTEUR, in partnership with the Lions Club of Esquimalt held their annual holiday party for special needs children from six Victoria area elementary schools today.
The children got to board and tour the ship, make crafts and cookies and ended the day with a visit and presents from Santa. Aged six to twelve years old, the children were accompanied by various school teachers, and members of the Esquimalt Lions Club.
HMCS PROTECTEUR is the adopted ship of the Greater Victoria municipalities, and a proud ambassador for the communities of the Capital Regional District
