The film was shot frame by frame onto Super 8 film The Commodore 64 controlled the camera and color wheel, by a program that also rendered the individual frames. (originally a color film, only a black & white video transfer exists).
Once the film came back from the processors, it was shown on a projector that had been modified to send out a pulse (modified by a certain J.Legris)..
For the sound, the projector was connected to the Commodore 64. The Commodore's internal clock was disengaged and it's new clock was now the projector pulse, meaning the Commodore 64 was running at 15 herz, maybe the world's slowest electronic computer, If the soundtrack was played back in real time it would have taken 1/10,000 of a second.
Anyway... this allowed the pre-programmed SID sound chip to play in perfect sync with the film.
that is amazing... I need one! That would be incredible if you could control it with a midi instrument
