there's not many deer around my area over 100 but that because of hunt clubs killing a lot of button an spikes... but our deer population is getting back on track.

Im not really understanding the idea of a Hunting "Season" Here in Australia we dont have "Seasons" our feral Pig deer and goats are so bad we're allowed to hunt all year round. Can someone please fill me in on the whole Hunting "Season" thing? We dont pay money to hunt either its just a way of life. Someone told me you have to pay to hunt in the US? Is that true? Here you buy you're equipment and you can start hunting. But you must pass a one hour accuracy corse. But thats it!

@7009Donkey not always, but most of the time. Most of us have been using the Tru-Fire T1 and that tends to do the job.

what did he score? i shot an 8pt whitetail here in NC that was about 2.5 years that scored 97 7/8... not a monster but for where i am, its a great buck...

I'm not sure what he scored, I'll have to ask Chad and get back with you on that. You're right though, a trophy is all realitive to where you're hunting. For the Texas Hill Country I'd say anything in the High 120's and up would be what I'd consider a trophy.
