Documentary produced for The University of Texas at Austin's Advertising 316 Course: "Creativity and American Culture."
The project focused on a book we were instructed to read as part of the course: Richard Floridas The Rise of the Creative Class. The book is a survey of the growing community, a Creative Class of more than 30 million individuals who have flocked to cities across the country where their ideas are able to cultivate in a community that embraces tolerance, diversity and creativity. The result is thriving cultural centers like Austin, San Francisco, New York and a myriad of other cities that have a highly educated population seeking autonomy and jobs that require creative thinking every day. Careers in education, the sciences, entertainment, advertising, architecture and law are examples. With my project we wanted to provide a practical example of the Creative Class at work and prove that it is not just a national study done by a college professor, it actually exists in society and contributes to intellectual and economic growth.
