i love peggy fleming...you can hear her after caryn lands the 2 jump combination...

This deserved 5.9 on both marks, it was the best of the night. And for those who criticized her spins, look at the edges and positions, they are superior, and her jump technqiue first rate. No question this was the top of the night for me.

What I find so interesting about the 1988 ladies Olympics short programs is that all of the top skaters did different jump combinations. Witt 3Toe2Loop, Thomas 2Loop3Toe, Manley 3Salchow2Loop, Kadavy 3Loop2Loop, Ito 2Loop3Loop, and Trenary 3Flip2Loop. As an adult figure skater, I just love to watch the different combinations. Most of the top men had 3Axel2Loop in their SPs. Paul Wylie did 3Lutz2Loop. Did anyone do 3Flip2Loop?

She lacked the speed of the others (Ito, Manley, Thomas) and this is the technical program so I think her marks were fair, even her camel spin was nice but too slow.

I think that the judging technically was totally fair here... her jumps barely come off the ice, and her presentation was subdude.. some may try to call it elegant but... this was far from top notch... Ito technically was top notch though !
