"Can We Talk? A Conversation about Civility and Democracy in America" is an interactive, interdisciplinary forum that puts scholars from a range of disciplines in dialogue with one another and with policy advocates, journalists, social commentators, and members of the public in an effort to identify the key issues surrounding the concepts of dissent and civility and set them in a historical and cultural perspective. This keynote address is delivered by Amy Gutmann, President and Christopher H. Browne Distinguished Professor of Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania.
