im Black and i like having soft curls....nobody wants to deal w/ nappy brillow pad textured hair...GET REAL!

however nobody should put chemicals in a kid's hair. that should be considered child-abuse. that "mother" on the Tyra show should be slapped silly

i got my first relaxer when i was 3. i begged my mama because i saw the just for me commercial. Yesterday i turned 19 and i have officially grew out my relaxer and i believe now i think im going to leave the relaxer alone. Watching tyra and seeing the ignorance of the women with relaxers made the decision for me.

I hav a 4 yr old, whose hair is soooo uneasy 2 comb, I'm not gon lie about it. My grannie sed mine was da same. I refuse 2 put a perm n it tho, I b talkin 2 myself like, "damn, wat am I gon do?" but I NEVA let her kno wat I'm thinkin. I tried lotions,greases,conditioners. I dont care about it lookin silky, I'm just concerned wit it not bn manageable. I also hav a 2 yr old dat has curly/wavy hair(lot of peopl call it good) but it aint "good" wen dat shit is hard 2 comb 2. LOL

my daughter will never get a relaxer and that is something that i told her dad i said don't worry about doing her hair. I'm taking care of all that

OOH! I remember that woman perming her 3 year old!! I was soooo mad! There is NO EXCUSE to perm a toddler's hair! Their hair is naturally soft and even if it is not, they don't have long hair and you can put little piggly tails or whatever the hell random thing you want and it won't look a mess. That is so much stress on the babyy... all that crying and then the self-esteem punch that she has to go through that shit to be beautiful...

and her sister is telling her this... I can't get over that
