Bottled water is the easiest packaging to bypass. Just get a reusable water bottle. Refill from the tap, or use a pitcher water filter at home.

Some people buy milk in glass, or milk their own cows. Others make their own juices and smoothies in the kitchen. ...but refilling a water bottle is the simplest and saves a lot of money ! While out, I refill my water bottle at whole foods for about 10 cents. ...or refill at a drinking fountain!

Personal water bottles (soda and juice too) are a one-time deal. Toys and containers for salad dressing, ketchup, storage, shampoo, etc., are not. For every container of, say, ketchup that a typical family goes through (and hopefully recycles), how many beverage bottles have they used?

Recycling is NOT the panacea for our planet. Although we SHOULD be encouraged to recycle, we must become aware of the health hazards of platic - as well as moving towards refusing, reducing and reusing first - these are kinder to our planet and reduce energy consumption.

In case you missed the bit of verbal persiflage, this spokesperson for the beverage companies shifted the issue of plastic pollution and the unintended consequences of plastic production, waste, recycling energy requirements.

Simply fill your aluminum water container at home...put a couple ice cubes in it to keep it cool and enjoy refreshing, known source water all day.
