I created this routine for Annie Sprinkle and Beth Stephens' Blue Wedding to the Sea that took place in August 2009 at the Venice Biennale in Venice, Italy.
Orange Appeal SF created the outer skirt. I created the rest of the costume.
I had water poured over my breasts, running down the tassels and then twirled them, sprinkling water from the sea onto the wedding party, symbolizing purification, baptism and rebirth.
Annie and Beth's Love Art Lab has a wedding each year that corresponds to a chakra symbolized with a color, and to an element of the Earth - becoming bound to Lover Earth - to assist her and raise awareness of the state of the earth and the care and love she needs.
For this costume, I wanted an outerskirt with 16 removable pets to symbolize the 16 petals of the throat chakra lotus.
This particular performance took place at Dottie Lux' Red Hots Burlesque in San Francisco. (She is also wearing Orange Appeal couture).
