My poor little momma rat is all tuckered out from nursing her greedy babies. She can't even hide out for a quick nap. See the one climb up and crawl under her arms while the others nurse through the wheel. Cute aren't they? lol

  • i have a pet rat and it looks exactly ike that

  • My god! She looks exhausted! D:

  • SO0O0O0O cute!!!! i love it

  • when i first got my boys i tried cleaning out their cage everyday because i was used to the poo free enclosures of my reptiles but it just got to be too much work to do it everyday. i clean out their cage once a week now and i have a much bigger cage so it stays cleaner longer

  • Well clearly it has to be cleaned everyday. I do that anyway with a wire cage.

  • I switch between wire cages and aqurium for my mice but usually if you get the wire ones with the tubes to seperate you can get a big on and a few small ones to connect and you'll have plenty of room.

  • an aquarium is never good for a rat unless you clean it our everyday at the least. for a preggo rat or a rat with small babies a plastic bin with alot of small holes in it is best. its cheaper, babies cant squeaze through the bars, and it has planty of ventelation assuming you put in enough air holes on the sides

  • Oh oh oh. A good cage for rats is around $100 from the pet barn, no idea where you live.

For a pregnant rat, an aquarium is pretty good. No shelves and wires for the babies to hurt themselves on.

  • i have a question. I want to buy a wire cage for my 2 ratties (one of which is pregnant) for more room and because i currently have an aquarium for them and i dont like it. where did you buy your cage? and how much was it? :)

  • haha this happened when my hairless rat mama had a litter of 10. 6 survived and they never let her have a minutes peace. She was very trusting of me because I had her since she was a baby and she loved when i took the babies out and gave her a break.
