I am whitedragonawa.

This is a video clip of me with 2 girls from youtube who introduced me to their Martial Art of Yaw Yan. This was in Marikina at Yaw Yan Buhawi led by Master Sir Rey. Sir Rey demonstrates some of the techniques used in Yaw Yan.
Yaw Yan is a Filipinoized version of Muay Thai with a Karate influence as well as self defense from Jiujitsu and MMA. Yaw Yan fighters are proud Filipino warriors who love to enter into Martial Arts and other combat sports events. Sir Rey is in great shape and is over 50 years old! I had a great time training here for the day!

  • Hello. Can I ask where in Marikina this gym is? I'm from Marikina and I'm pretty interested in learning this sport. I want to learn Martial arts that originated in my country hahaha :) I train Muay Thai btw and this looks a little similar to it. =)))

  • @soulreaverprotoss I dont know marikina well but if you go on yahoo and type in yaw yan buhawi you can find a dojo blog that talks about it and shows the address. I think there might be a video on youtube where it shows the address too. Yaw Yan may be used in MMA sports but its not a sport it is a fighting system for self defense even though they do sport combat. If you do muay thai you will catch on to yaw yan fast, but yaw yan is more open minded to certain kicks from karate/taekwondo.

  • @soulreaverprotoss as well as their favorite spinning kick and fist techniques. You will like it! I will not be suprised if Yaw Yan gets known well in the near future and dominates the kickboxing and MMA world.

  • Hi, Im from Caloocan (Monumento). Do you have any recommendations on where can i train? I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

  • @shotixootii I dont know where that is but if you go to Marikina you can train at the gym in this video. It is very small. but the teacher is really good.

  • I have been training at Yaw Yan, under Master Ekin for 3 years and love. Originally from the UK, I trained but there was not enough disciplin for me. Here it go hard or go home. Mahalika glad you like the Yaw Yan style if you ever come back come over to Cebu Yaw Yan

  • @bassmansix Ok I will go to Cebu one day maybe.
