@dilexic Let's consider it like this, I'm a member, you're not, who is more likely to know the truth? But don't worry you can believe your little conspiracies all you like. I'll just go on knowing that last Friday night we raised over £400 for various causes, that the province gave £15,000 to help with rebuilding after the floods in the Philippines and over a million was given to various hospices throughout the country by the Grand Charity.
@dilexic The Golden Dawn has no relation to freemasonry. As for substantial donations, nope apart from my joining fee which was hardly onerous considering what you'd pay for a year's membership of any other group I've not felt forced to put my hand in my pocket if I couldn't afford it. I have given money, but that's been to masonic charities like the Grand Charity which provides funds to masons or their dependants in distress as well as non masonic charities and disaster funds.
@dilexic I think you would be better doing some research, especialy regarding the persecution of Freemasonry under Franco, Mussolini, Hitler and Stalin then you may understand something of masonophobia
Explain the book of the golden dawn then, which originated from the Rosicrucian brotherhood then. Or the fact you have to make substantial donations on a regular basis to their lodge to "help with the up keep of the lodge." Or explain why Freemasonry has been outlawed in the past in certain country's. If reemasonry is truly free to all to join then tell me how u come to the conclusion of someone joining? Jabolon is not a good entity
I can't post the link for some reason, but watch the Youtube video "What it means to be a Mason" for correct information, if you want it.
Be warned though, it isn't what everyone thinks it is. No secret powers, no secret information that is hidden from the public, no world domination plans.
Actually as a Mason, you spend a lot of your time helping others and being of service to your community.
People need to understand, the Masons are an organization that has secrets, they are not a secret organization.
Our secrets are our passwords, signs and handshakes and our ritual. (A ritual is just a prescribed way of doing things.)
HOWEVER, everything else about Masonry: who we are, what we do, where we do it and when is openly available to everyone. Our members wear identifying rings and pins, our contact info is in the phone book and online. That is hardly being secret. :)
@dilexic . I am a Master Mason and also a 32 Degree Scottish Rite Mason.
1. It is against our rules to ask anyone to join. They must ask us.
2. Money has nothing to do with membership. President or plumber, all are equal in Lodge.
3. Though Masons are in every religion, every Mason I know is a church-going, saved Christian. None of us would belong to the organization you describe, neither would your grandfather.
Any Lodge would be happy to answer any questions you have about Masonry.

6. There can be up to two black balls in most lodges.
7. Almost right about the pajamas, they are generally white, but not used in every lodge.
8. There is no ledge. No leap of faith.
9. Try senior and Junior Wardens, not secretarys. And the Grand Master isn't present at these meetings, just the Worshipful Master of the Lodge.
10. You are not willing to die for the brotherhood, it is an alegorical reference to your death in the future.

OK, just for you, I will handle this point by point.
1. Being related to a mason IS one way to join, but that is the same in the Golf Club too.
2. You are never "invited" to become a mason, you have to ask or enquire.
3. Your financial position is never enquired about or discussed.
4. The Lodge is the building and the particular group you belong to. The Temple is the place we hold our rituals.
5. You are not in attendance at the meeting when your membership is voted on.
