Another year and another Thunder on the Beach. The annual monster truck show on the down the New Jersey Shore on the Sand was once again a success. Like always the show included Quad Wars, this year between Baltimore and Philadelphia. Another well known time-filler in Wildwood is Thunder Trucks, in which they take to the same racing course as the monster trucks. And of course the monster trucks were once again in attendance for another great weekend of racing and freestyle on the Wildwood sand. Racing was close all weekend long between all three of the motor sports represented over the weekend. Freestyle was something else. It seems as though every year in Wildwood the freestyle gets better and better. This year Jim Koehler in Avenger stole the show, getting some massive air off the racing stack all weekend long, including one of the biggest leaps ever seen by a monster truck. Jim Koehler couldn't knock off the points leader for the weekend, Gary Porter in Grave Digger #25, but certainly cemented his name into the promoters in Wildwood and all the fans in attendance as the Wildwood King of Air. Wheelies were another great part of the weekend seeing some awesome ones out of Stone Crusher, Spiderman, Avenger and Brutus. Megasaurus also made his appearance, as always, in Wildwood setting cars on fire like he is best known to do. Overall the monster trucks and thunder on the beach crew certainly ran one of their best shows on the beach. This video includes highlights from the two shows i went to (Saturday Night and Sunday Afternoon) and includes most of the photos i took and all of the relevant videos i took of the show. 7 Trucks were in attendance.
