Red Bull Air Race Pilot Nigel Lamb

Nigel Lamb has always done things a little bit differently. Flying the only MX2 in the Red Bull Air Race World Championship last year and with a new MXS in 2008, the British pilot born in Zimbabwe is counting on this season being a bit different -- and more successful -- than in 2007. With decades of experience, an increasingly improved plane and even a podium finish in San Diego last year, Lamb proved to the world that he has the right stuff not only to keep up with all the Edge and Extra airplanes in the championship but to beat them as well. Yet the material and strategic setbacks that hurt Lamb in several races early in the season left him a disappointing ninth overall again last season with just five points. In a new MXS plane to replace the MX2 he is confident that 2008 will be better.
