  • You have a LOT of parrots, including a Hyacinth Macaw! You are not just a skilled parrot expert, but also a very rich man!

A person who owns a Hyacinth must have a very high income as those birds require large aviaries, loads of toys, and lots of nuts in their diet. Moluccans alone are costly, but Hyacinths are very expensive to own!

  • Tnx for the kind words. I am a rich man but I don't have a lot of money or a Hyacinth Macaw. Two of the Moluccans and the Hyacinth and the parrot setup belong to a friend. I just have the world's most photographed Moluccan and a Blue Headed Pionus.

  • I have to say, your birds are in beautiful shape. Now that I have watched and watched, I really appreciate at least a bit of what must go into their care, and I can only guess how much that is. For some day, did you make that swing, or?

Thanks (for the camera info, too!)

  • I wish I had that setup. The Hyacinth and 2 of the Moluccans belong to a friend.

  • omg i really want a hyacinth macaw soo bad

  • I wonder how many decibels these birds can give off?

  • Man I wish I could get a molluccan too but they are so loud. The first day I volunteered and this bird expo it was always this one cockatoo that would set off the other 300 birds.

  • lol at him on the swing!

  • Is that Goliath, Peaches and Tico? :)

    I recognize them.

  • I have 8 cockatoos and a grey and a few smaller parrots. I have a fairly good size house, but no set up like the one on this video! AWESOME

  • @dolefulroses The breeding of Hyacinth Macaws as pets is a GOOD thing. Because they're so desired as pets, breeding them to supply the wild population is much easier.

  • @dolefulroses

If the species is endangered, captive breeding by knowledgeable parrot owners is not a bad thing. There is nothing wrong with purchasing a captive bred baby, and you of all people should know that if you have worked at a rescue.

  • Definitely the M2. I had one, and neighbours could hear him halfway down the street when he got going.

  • ara is louder then Cockatoo
