I romanced Merrill because she brings feelings into a relationship, and has some interesting dialogue afterwards. And I chose someone different each playthrough. Up next is a female character, side with the mages, and romance Fenris. I don't think I'll ever side with the templars. They aren't exactly the nice, friendly bunch of Alistars people would have hoped for.
