http://www.therenegadehealthshow.com - This raw food recipe for mushroom bruschetta is killer...

I don't even know if it's "legal" to make bruschetta with mushrooms, but if you make this and try it, you won't even care - it's that good.

  • boletus bellini rocks, trust me!

  • Even the cartoon of ya don't have a upper lip lol

  • Idk what kind they were, but I had the most delicious little brown mushrooms in England. They served them everyday with breakfast, and they were cooked and marinated in some type of vinegar-tasting stuff. Yum!

  • Fav mushroom...portobello. What happened when you tried to juice the leek?

  • This was an amazing recipe, I didn't have leeks so I just added some red onion instead. =) Thanks for the recipe.

yeah I agree but i mean people would be dying. Think of eating paper. As far as I know, no nutritional content, and if you only ate that you'd die, so cooking doesn't destroy EVERYTHING. It may destroy a good deal of nutrients, but not everything :P

But yeah I'm a big fan of raw foods, but I don't think it's like an ultimatum...like choose raw or choose cooked. I think it varies for every vegetable.

or animals if you're into that kind of stuff =/

  • @MichaelBallack91 People ARE malnutritioned & sick because they KILL the amino acids etc. by cooking & because of the depleted soil stuff is grown on - but that's another big one. I eat mushrooms raw whenever I can, and I am not dropping dead either. So, depends on which dogma you subscribe to or which food pope you follow I guess ;)

  • @KingTingRolloTong

if cooked foods had no nutrients, people would be dropping like flies. Even Kevin says high-raw, notice how he doesn't say 100% raw? Some foods are actually better to be steamed, or boiled. For example, tomatoes, high in lycopenes (a type of antioxidant) have more bioavailable antioxidants when they're cooked. Steaming is also good.

  • Thanks so much! This recipe looks so yummy! Have to make this one for sure. I have a bunch of leeks to harvest, too. Cant decide on favorite mushroom... portabello and shiitake possibly
