oday, May 30th, 2011, residents of Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow came together to honor those in America's military who gave their lives while protecting our country. Early morning thunderstorms threatened to wash Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow's Memorial Day Parade and Service but the weather cleared up in time for the 9 o'clock start of the parade. Marchers included Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown veterans, Tarrytown VFW Drum and Bugle Corps, village officials, school board members, Sleepy Hollow High School marching band, Girl scouts, Boy Scouts and the Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow Fire departments with their emergency vehicles. The Parade began on Main Street in Tarrytown, continued up North Broadway, past the Warner library and the high school, down Beekman Avenue, Washington Street and culminated at Patriot's Park.
