I don't know about the physical machine, but I heard that the digital preview on the website is rendered via Blender. I first found ryz through an article on blendernation that talked about it.

Blender is an opensource 3D creation software. It has a sharp learning curve, because it is designed to be more "useful" than "user-friendly." You can find out more by searching for it on Google.
