2D compressible inviscid CFD calculation of an air flow at Mach 2 over a bullet shaped object in a parallel passage. 3 milliseconds are calculated after an impulsive start. Mach number (upper) and static temperature (lower) are shown.
The simulation was done using a cell centred finite volume code, with approximately 50000 quadrilateral cells. The code uses 3rd order MUSCL interpolation in space and Kurganov and Tadmor's central scheme for the fluxes. 4th order Runge-Kutta integration is used temporally with a timestep of a microsecond.
Post processing was done with ParaView.
