Let Us Remember the Sacrifices of Our Troops in Iraq and Around the World on this Independance Day.

This is a story about the death of two soldiers who were supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. They died in Najaf, Iraq, of wounds suffered when their helicopter crashed during combat operations. They were assigned to the 4th Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

Killed were:

Capt. Mark T. Resh, 28, of Fogelsville, Pa.

Chief Warrant Officer Cornell C. Chao, 36, of California.

This is just one of thousands of similar stories, and something to think about as we celebrate this July 4th.

  • @bstreet03 As someone who had very close ties to Cornell I would like to say that he would be floored and deeply disheartened with your statement. This is the same kind of thinking that caused him to get killed. You do Cornell's actions and his life a great dishonor. Judging billions of people by the actions of a dozen is ignorant, unfair, and "Un- American."
