@Oblivion2550 Upgrading the RAM is only one small part. I'm talking about being able to constantly upgrade each piece of your system. I have been constantly changing my system for the last 10 years. it now has entirely new parts and case, but at no point did I buy an entire system, just a part or two at a time.

@dedokta Mac Pro can be upgraded and all mac can have upgraded ram.

I beg to differ. My old iBOOKs can still run PPC Linux / BSD distributions without any problems.
Not to mention they are a great piece of hardware to hack around and educate yourself in "UNIX arts".
I have 2 G3 ClamShell's with OpenBSD and FreeBSD on them + 3 iBOOKs G4 with Debian, Arch linux PPC and Mac OS X 10.4.11.
Than some 2 "sexy" iMAC's G4 with MacOS 10.4.11, Intel MacBook and iMAC with MAC OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.
