ABC tries, but they can't come close to NBA on NBC. John Tesh's theme song makes NBC great, but then you have the epic pregame movies that make a regular season game seem like a playoff game, and on top of that you had Marv Albert, Bob Costas and Co.

LA rightfully could have owned more than half the 2000s decade. Here they were beat, but not by much, had they of won, they would of faced, and beat the Nets, if Kobe and Shaq had figured when to pass the torch and work with, not against each other, 2004 finals (regardless of not being very deep) are theirs. After 5-peating it is possible in 2005, (Kobe was injured, Shaq will still Shaq), 2006 Finals are again debatable but at that point Kobe > Wade.

This was one of the worst days I've ever had in a sports sense..we were the 3-time defending World Champions..a 4-peat would have been SO awesome..and, had Robert Horry made the last second shot in Game 5..we'd of closed San Antonio out in this game..it was just a very bad time for me..to lose to a team we had owned the past two years..the Spurs said they were the better team, but I believe L.A. was just as good..this game shows absolutely no sign of that, but the Lakers basically gave up..
