1 out of 6 billion sounds like good odds for magicians, but consider this: The more people in your audience, the higher the likelihood that at least one of them knows the secret. With an audience of only 10, that 6 bil. figure becomes less than 1 bil. for all intents and purposes. With an audience of hundreds, the odds that someone knows the secret become very high. It only takes one drop of poison to ruin a well. I've seen it happen. Your thoughts?
How about not talking about exposure? Let's talk about theft. Somebody explaining a marketed magic trick, created and thought of, by somebody else? And now a days, if a new magic trick is published, a lot of people google it, rather than buying it, taking meals away from the original creator.
I enjoy to support my teachers of magic for thier knowledge and hard work.I am thankful to them and they deserve to be paid ,period and yes magic is about secrets
Now let us consider the THUMB TIP and how over exposed that is now
I get your point but if you are a magician at a magician at a spot known for magic, they come and harrass you day after day. Also if what your're saying is true (the entertainment not the secret is what's important) than why are there no magicians on tv anymore? Remember when there use to be tons of magic specials on tv? Maybe not. You look pretty young. There use to be 7 or 8 specials a year (not even including the big names). Now all you have is the masked ass.
I get great pleasure from exposing in the comments on YT & then watching the horrified reactions of guys who have been brainwashed that exposure will be the end of magic.
Conversely, if doing a show myself or watching the show of another then I wouldn't dream of exposing. Now we are down to small numbers and it may spoil the entertainment.
It's amazing how abusive people become one exposes on YT. They treat it like religion but they don't understand. So misguided!
see below .....I also realize that I read a magic book or watch a magic video a number of times and then practice thousands of times before I really know how to do something. The audience just does not put in the time it really takes to "know" it .
agreed ...Hey Alvo its Gordon from the Confederation ...Have not been there in a while... I should check it out. I realized what you said is absolutely true especially if people have seen the exposure and still dont remember ever seeing the trick. And THEY ARE AMAZED!!! I am willing to bet that I can show someone something, tell them how its done and do it again sometime later and still entertain them. People just have a hard time remembering.

Hey Alvo. Well said buddy. I too sometimes get upset with the amount of "exposure" on youtube, but you and Gordon hit the nail on the head. :D
