The whale shark lives in tropical and warm temperate seas worldwide. It is considered the largest fish in the world. Despite the name, it is a shark not a whale. The largest individual that was accurately measured was 40 feet 7 inches long.

  • ive swam with whale sharks in belize and they are really friendly...ive also seen the at the georgia aquarium and they are still friendly! even if it is a shark

  • I think whale sharks are so beautiful =) . But I think I would still be alittle bit scared if I was in the middle of the ocean and one came swimmin on by lol !!!

  • i read that you have whale sharks that have to be force fed once a week. I"in the interests of research" This is much better studied by watching them in the wild, feeding on plankton, such as coral spawn and the crab larvae at christmas island. Ocean travelling whale sharks should not be confined in an aquarium.Training them to feed from a pole resulting in them dying from ruptured stomach?exactly how is this scientifically useful?
